Chez Chasch is the home studio and creative playground for Chasch Ray. The studio is located in Harrop, about 30 kms east of Nelson, BC, and is accessed by taking the Harrop Ferry - which provides a short and scenic trip across Kootenay Lake for free.

Most of my work is functional - even a sculpture begs to have a purpose in life. My pottery speaks to my passions for food, flowers, gardening and nature. My creations aim to become a coveted part of a table setting. A favourite coffee mug must be just the right size and feels like it was made especially for your hand.

I especially love to experiment with glazing. Making patterns or layering many glazes I’m always aiming to create great depth and mystery and surprises. And of course the real magic with glazing happens in the kiln and the excitement I get when I open the kiln and see my latest creations is what keeps me inspired to keep on creating!
